What is a Plevin Claim?
Plevin started in 2014 when a Mrs Plevin made a claim against Paragon Finance (Plevin v Paragon Personal Finance Ltd). The claim basis was that Mrs Plevin took out a loan with Paragon Finance that also had PPI added. 71% of the premium was made up of commission which Mrs Plevin was not aware of, nor the identity of the recipients of the commission.
The new ruling ‘Plevin’ allows undisclosed PPI premiums that were paid to your lender to be refunded to you. Claims that were previously rejected, or that were submitted against banks and lenderswithout consideration of the amount of commission paid, could all qualify under the newruling.
